Seriously
who doesn’t like blush! Girls love it because it makes them look oh so pretty,
fresh and perfect. And boys love it, because of course it makes their woman
happy. If you come to think of it, blush doesn’t always have to be a color to
enhance your facial features or help perk up your outfit, but it very well can
also be a part of your home décor. Nothing is as beautiful as soft pastel
colors around that house that make you both serene at mind and soul, while keeping you at ease. I don’t want to start on my color psychology debate here, but it’s
true, colors play a very important role in a person’s behavior, temperament,
mood etc.
I can start off listing a thousand things that can be in a blush tone around a house and would absolutely look lovely. For starters, a blush tone wall with a mix of grey and ivory toned furniture, some mirrors and some antiques, makes me imagine a very classy and chic version of our very own Barbie Doll House.
Obviously you don’t have to go over board with anything unless you are not
comfortable with it. For that purpose I would advise on adding up some
statement pieces to your existing environment. It can be a nice pair of cushions, a
set of scented candles or a beautiful pretty vase on the center table. It can also be a piece of
furniture like a chair, take it slow, if you may and let it set in. Once you
get a catch of the pastel change, you can keep adding in as many accessories as
you want.
Blush by the way, or a Rose Quartz is also one of the Pantone 2016 combination
color, the other one is called Serene (Pastel Blue) which would absolutely look
flawless paired up together.
Exotic combinations, for that hint of Vogue-ness in your house can be gold, mint or
even copper. A Persian rug with copper undertones and a hint of blush and oh!
Turquoise, I can only imagine its beauty.
Another good way to use these tones while being on budget would be adding
artworks on your walls. They can add up color to the plain old cream walls and
also bring in some drama to your house. Also be open to the concept of adding a
pop of color around you. You’d be scared to try and change the lamp or even
that sofa to a different unique color base, or even one with a printed pattern.
But trust me; by just changing one main piece in your room, you can change the
entire look and feel of it. And I mean come on its your sofa, you do whatever
you have to do with it, to make it look glam! For all I can say, as long as it
makes you feel at home, cozy and comfortable, it’s yours to be.
Try getting out of the comfort zone of the usual colors that we use around in
our house on daily basis. Honestly blush and/ or any other pastels are the safest bet
anyway.
